Dealer Account Manager – Fleet Upfitting

Automotive Concepts is seeking a motivated Dealer Account Manager to grow our commercial fleet upfitting business throughout the Twin Cities. In this consultative outside sales role, you'll develop relationships with commercial fleets, contractors, municipalities, and dealership fleet departments to design work ready vehicles that improve productivity, safety, and profitability.
You'll work with business owners, fleet managers, purchasing departments, dealership fleet managers, and commercial sales teams to provide complete upfitting solutions for trucks, vans, and commercial vehicles.

What You'll Do
Build & Grow Commercial Accounts
- Develop relationships with commercial fleet customers across a variety of industries, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, construction, landscaping, utilities, municipalities, delivery services, and other trades.
- Prospect and develop new fleet accounts throughout the Twin Cities.
- Build long term partnerships with business owners, fleet managers, operations managers, and purchasing departments.
- Become a trusted advisor for fleet vehicle equipment and upfitting solutions.
Develop Dealership Fleet Partnerships
- Build relationships with dealership fleet managers and commercial sales departments.
- Help dealership fleet teams win more business by providing complete upfitting solutions.
- Identify new fleet opportunities through dealership partnerships.
- Support dealership fleet departments with vehicle specifications, estimating, and product recommendations.
- Conduct training and product presentations for dealership fleet sales teams.
Design Fleet Upfit Solutions
- Consult with customers to understand how their vehicles are used in the field.
- Design work ready vehicle packages that improve efficiency, organization, and safety.
- Recommend the best products based on application, budget, and long term durability.
- Source products through manufacturers and distribution partners.
- Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and sales orders.
- Typical product categories include:
- Ladder racks
- Shelving and storage systems
- Drawer systems
- Toolboxes
- Cargo management
- Van interiors
- Partitions
- Bed slides
- Transfer tanks
- Air compressors
- Lighting
- Warning and safety equipment
- Trailer hitches

- Towing accessories
- Spray in bedliners
- Tonneau covers
- Graphics and fleet branding
- Electronics and camera systems
Coordinate Projects
- Transition sold projects to the Shop Manager for production scheduling.
- Monitor projects from order through delivery to ensure promised completion dates are met.
- Communicate proactively with customers and dealership partners throughout the build process.
- Coordinate vehicle delivery and ensure an exceptional customer experience.
Stay Organized
- Maintain accurate CRM records, estimates, and customer communications.
- Track sales opportunities and account activity.
- Forecast upcoming projects and communicate production needs.
- Meet or exceed established sales and account growth goals.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in commercial fleet sales, automotive sales, dealership fleet, truck equipment, construction equipment, industrial sales, or related B2B sales.
- Strong relationship building and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self motivated with a consultative sales approach.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred
- Experience working with commercial fleets or dealership fleet departments.
- CRM experience.
- Experience using CDK or other dealership management systems.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle equipment, truck accessories, van upfitting, and fleet operations.
- Existing relationships within the commercial fleet or construction industries.
